Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy
Welcome. I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
How I Can Help
How would it feel to be truly heard? We all have times in our lives when we are struggling. Perhaps feeling depressed, worried, stressed, bereaved, or when our relationships with others and with ourselves are going wrong. We may need somebody to help us through those difficult times. I can provide a safe, calm, unhurried space in which we can together explore your feelings and thoughts. I won't judge you, and I will do my best to understand how you experience the world. I am interested in what your world is like, for you. I believe that you are the expert in your own world. I believe that you know what hurts. I believe that given the right relationship, and the safety to be able to express how you really feel, you also have the ability to heal yourself. Together, we will find the right way forward, for you. You can bring any issue to counselling, and you will not be judged. I have experience of working with a wide range of issues, including:
    • Depression
    • Anxiety
    • Stress
    • Bereavement
    • Self-esteem issues
    • Eating disorders
    • Addictions and dependencies
    • Abuse
    • Trauma
    • Long-term physical illnesses
    • Relationship problems
    • Abortion
    • Miscarriage
    • Infertility
It can be difficult to describe your feelings using words, and sometimes things feel impossible to understand or to say out loud. As well as more traditional talking therapy, I also offer more creative ways of working. We can work with drawing, images, expressive writing, or miniatures, to help you express yourself. Clients have found that working in such a way can help them to better understand their feelings and behaviour, and can lead to important shifts within themselves and their relationships.
I worked within the NHS as a doctor before starting to retrain as a counsellor and psychotherapist in 2011. In addition to my private practice, I currently work at a general counselling agency in Worcester, working with a wide range of clients, and have significant experience in working with bereavement, having worked at a bereavement support agency for 2 years.
