An MBCT mindfulness course is being held on Wednesday mornings from for 8 weeks starting this autumn, at the Wishing Well. This course is a pre-requisite for all mindfulness teaching courses (MBSR is also accepted).
Dates are Wednesday 30th September - 25th November 10am-12pm.
There is no session on 28th October.
What is MBCT?
The Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy course assists participants in learning mindfulness based strategies, and to establish a formal and informal practice in their everyday lives. The purpose is to teach participants how they can be more fully aware and present in each moment of their life. In essence, participants learn to be present in life just as it is, from a neutral perspective or non-judgmental perspective. This means whatever they are facing, however unpleasant, can be acknowledged and managed in the most effective way. In the long run this reduces unhappiness. As they begin to see unpleasant thoughts, feelings or experiences more clearly, they develop the ability to skilfully choose their response to them.
