Becky Maydew

I can guess that something is causing difficulty in your life or in the life of a loved one because you are on this page, looking for support. Just as you would make an appointment with the Doctor if you had a bad back, I can offer qualified support in a safe and understanding place so that you can explore what is troubling you. My approach is Person-centred which means I will listen to you without preconceived ideas, without “shoulds” or “musts”, so that you have the time and space to work out what you need, in the knowledge that whatever you say is in confidence.

I am qualified to work with Children, Young People and Adults so please do not hesitate to contact me, if you are experiencing any of the following (as many people do):

Although I describe myself as a Person Centred Therapist, I also use other approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness: Breathing and Relaxation Techniques, Brief/Long Term Counselling, Solution Focused Therapy (Life Coaching), Creative Strategies and Somatics, so that all counselling is tailored to you, your needs and your personality. We will work together to identify what works best for you.

As well as having a private practice, I am experienced in counselling in primary care (surgery), family support and school settings. I am an Individual Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, adhering to their Code of Ethics, and have Professional Indemnity Insurance.
